Dirt BMX dirt jump mountain bike jumps vs?

I have been bmx for 5 years or more. I ride mostly park and street, but hit land jumps from time to time. I want to enter the mountain bike downhill at first I thought, but the nearest place is going downhill and one hour drive prices gas, do not go often. There are many trails / freeride in my area and BMX Dirt Jump and parks / trails. My question is, what could go bigger on a mountain bike instead of one when it comes to bmx dirt jumping? My bmx is currently configured for the street, driving a very low (20×13.5), for whatever reason, I need a specific instrument for dirt is a BMX or mountain bike. I'm 5'6 too short … I do not know if that makes a difference.

Well, it depends on your style. If you want go all depends on the bike. If you are in shock too soft on a mountain bike will not be able to get the pop you want on the edge of the jump, but a little more tolerant. One of them is good for BMX jumps as UPS because there is no shock. But less tolerant if they are not land you want.
